Deck us all with Boston Charlie

.

Deck us all with Boston Charlie,
Walla Walla, Wash, and Kalamazoo!
Nora's freezing on the trolley,
Swaller dollar cauliflower, alley-garoo!

Don't we know archaic barrel,
Lullaby Lilla boy, Louisville Lou?
Trolley Molly don't love Harold,
Boola boola Pensacoola hullabaloo!

Bark us all bow-wows of folly,
Polly wolly cracker and too-da-loo!
Hunky Dory's pop is lolly gaggin' on the wagon,
Willy, folly go through!

Donkey Bonny brays a carol,
Antelope Cantaloup, 'lope with you!
Chollie's collie barks at Barrow,
Harum scarum five alarum bung-a-loo!

  1. I still miss Pogo. Although I wonder about what the denizens of Okefenokee knew about freezing on trolleys.

I have always had a theory that the MBTA had only one guy with a special wrench to turn on and off the heat of all the trolley cars, subway cars, and trackless trolleys. It took him about six months to finish the switch over, and then he would go back and reverse the process.

I can think of no other reason why the heat always seemed to be going full blast in June, and there was no heat at all in December, January, & February.

Doonesbury almost fills the gap that Pogo left behind, but not quite.

There never seems to be a witty 'gator around when you really need one.
